Let's hear what you've got, lads.

Re: Post Your Specs
Sun, December 21, 2003 - 10:33 AMThanks! Although I have been keeping up sporadically on the Amiga revival. I suppose I could put Linux on one, but then it wouldn't really be AmigaOS anymore. I'm not worried, I know somehow Amiga will rise again and dominate 96% of the market. -

Re: Post Your Specs
Sun, December 21, 2003 - 10:53 AMYeah... I'm sad about the decline of "fun" computers... There used to be so much selection and innovation. Now it's A or B, and even the "alternatives" adhere to some standards base. Bleh.

OK, I've been so out of it-- that 4000T sounds SWEET. How did you go about getting it together?
I have an ORIGINAL Amiga 1000. Man, I bought that thing when it first came out. It has 1 MB of ram (got the expansion board) and 2 disk drives. And that's it for peripherals.
I've built countless PCs. If I could build me an Ami box I'd be in heaven.

Re: Post Your Specs
Tue, December 23, 2003 - 7:57 PMParts bought mostly in Poland--the Amiga sort-of had a massive splash there "late in life". Second-hand stuff is really cheap. Check www.allegro.pl for details. ;-)

"Amiga Companion" piggybacked 40MB harddrive (C.Ltd SCSI) and A1080 drive in A1000 case with legs chopped to fit flat on top of A1000 (Vince Lee and I each made one)

Dude, I'd love to see a picture of that, seriously. One of my long-term wishes is to mod my old A1000 that's just lying around collecting spiders.

Re: Post Your Specs
Fri, April 16, 2004 - 3:53 PMI have an A2000 I am not sure how much ram it has but it has three SCSII Hard Drives about 140MB space I believe. Video Toaster, original monitor. I haven't booted it for a while but it does boot most of the time but sometimes it doesn't recognize the hard drives. I have been thinking about doing some work on it and bring it back to life, but I haven't had a lot of time for it and to be honest I am not sure exactly what to look for or where to find it. ;~> -

Re: Post Your Specs
Tue, March 22, 2005 - 12:33 PMDon't have it any more :-(
It was an Commodore A1200.
Intrinisic Computer Systems tower kit, keyboard, etc.
Microbotics M1230XA (50mhz 68030, 68882) accelerator with 64mb RAM.
Microvitec M1438S monitor.
Seagate 420mb HDD.
An IDE/ATAPI CR-ROM of some description.
Epson GT6500 Scanner.
It was awesome at the time. Alas the power connector on the mobo broke and it never really recovered. I got a Mesh Win98 PC for college (the first person in halls to get a Pentium II) and only replaced it this year, with an Athlon of some sort.

Re: Post Your Specs
Fri, September 30, 2005 - 7:47 PMMy old 2000 HD circa 1990, 40MBish HD, 040 accellerator (maybe only 030?) 12ish MBish RAM maybe 16. The accellerator and some RAM was put in after I used it regularly so I lose track of the specs. I got some fancy new external flicker fixer a year or two ago so I could use it with my modern monitor, doesn't use the video slot. My old 1080 is so blurry it's just sad. I got that 1080 with my original A1000 in 1986!!!!! But my mouse doesn't work, I think it's a blown CIA chip. Amiga OS 2.0 I think.
And I have a 2000 a friend gave me for spare parts to try to get the original working.
I'd like to get a nice clean A1000, I always wished I didn't have to trade that baby in for my A2000. And I really wish my mom hadn't given away my first computer an Atari 400. The A1000 was my second, and first real computer love.
